Rowan McCarthy

About Rowan:

Prior to pursuing my master’s degree in journalism at Carleton University, I received my Bachelor of Arts from McGill University where I majored in history with a minor in philosophy.

I currently work as the head of social media for the Ottawa Jr Senators in the CCHL. I also do play by play and colour commentary on ojsradio.mixlr.com and flohockey.tv for the Jr Senators and Ottawa West Golden Knights.

Pictured, is one of my appearances on the Rogers 22 broadcast of Ottawa 67’s games. I have acted as a substitute colour commentator for Rogers on several occasions.

As of 2024, I am also one of the hosts and producers of the Central Canada Podcast. The podcast follows the Central Canada Hockey League through interviews with players and team personnel.

While I specialize in hockey coverage and love breaking down the game for fans I am also a freelance journalist and technical writer.

My freelance journalism focuses on Ottawa based human interest and community based stories.
